We invite you to audition at Drury Lane Theatrical Productions for the following roles only in the production of First Date!

ROLES:
Casey - (late 20s to late 30s) Female. Great belt/mix voice. Daring, bold and delightfully controversial. All as a defense mechanism.
Man #1 - (late 20s to late 30s) Male. Baritone/Tenor. (Jewish Chorus, Gabe, Edgy British Guy) Male, any ethnicity. Gabe is the womanizer and Aaron’s best friend since childhood. Edgy Rocker/British guy is a bad boy from Casey’s past.
Man #2 – (late 20s to late 30s) Male. Tenor. (Reggie, Aaron’s Future Son, Edgy Rocker Guy) Reggie is Casey’s fabulous fierce gay best friend. Edgy Rocker is a bad boy from Casey’s past. Aaron and Casey’s future son is confused over his religious affiliation and a rapper.

LOCATION:
Auditions are held at the “Loft” – 2269 New Street, Burlington.

MORE INFORMATION:
Please be aware that we are not an Equity Production House. All performers are volunteers and all acting roles are NON-PAID.

Your Audition Panel will be:
Stage Director and Choreographer, Marc Richard
Music Director, Anne Barnshaw
Producers, Peter Smurlick and Rick MacKenzie


The Stage and Music Directors, and Producers will be present for auditions.

Further Information about the Audition Process, Performance Dates, Rehearsal Dates and times, etc. is below:

Rehearsals will start in March and are Tue/Thu evenings and Sunday afternoons for the most part.

Please prepare 1 contemporary, story driven music theatre song that showcases you. You will be accompanied by our music director.
Please have your sheet music in a binder and in the correct key.
If you are using an accompaniment track, please bring your own device to play the tracks.

At the audition, please be prepared to do some cold readings, and perhaps be ready to do some movement work.
You may also send a separate resumé and include a photo (optional).

Drury Lane has had a wonderfully successful 2024/25 season and it’s time to celebrate!! Please join us for our Awards Night to honour everyone involved in this year’s productions. Our theme is “Old Hollywood” so dust off your fancy duds and party with us. We will be serving tasty hors d’oeuvres and fancy cocktails(at a fabulous price) representing each of the shows. Dessert and coffee will be enjoyed during the show. Entertainment will be of the highest calibre of course. Our MC Paul D’Amario will be quizzing us with show trivia too!
