Nunsense
October / November 2007
A musical comedy
Book, Music and Lyrics by Dan Grogin
Broadway's madcap musical spoof about the misadventures of some feisty nuns trying to put on a fundraiser is guaranteed to lift your spirits, proving conclusively that nun rhymes with fun. Five survivors of The Little Sisters of Hoboken nunnery parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise funds so that the last four of their dearly departed comrades, having succumbed to botulism, can be buried.
The sisters engage in rather 'un-nunlike' shenanigans as they do their wacky song-and-dance routines, perform ventriloquism and involve the audience in their outrageous high jinks. The rollicking score is interspersed with spontaneous comic interludes and shameless puns paced a break-neck speed.
